Special Offerings!

Our January Special offering of $65.00 went to sustain our students spiritually through our

NGL Synod’s  CAMPUS MINISTRIES

In February, our Special Offering will be on the First Sunday [February 5th], as we join churches all over the country in “Souper Bowl of Caring”  to benefit ELCA World Hunger.

Even as millions in our country gather around TVs,  loading up on snacks, to watch the Super Bowl game, over 800  million people will be hungry around the world. Let’s do our part to help needy children of God in every place !

ELCA World Hunger makes a life-saving difference  around the world and close to home through an integrated and            comprehensive program of relief, development, education, and advocacy.       For more info:  www.elca.org/hunger

Next Month, our Special Offering will go to Regional Hospice,      as they help individuals and families at the end of life.

Text Box: YOUR MISSION ENDOWMENT FUND
In the past year, God has blessed our congregation with gifts from the estates of Eleanore Gray and Aileen Jarek, totaling over $95,000. In accord with our policy of “first fruits” giving, ten percent is given right away to worthy causes outside the regular budget of the congregation. Together with earnings on the money, this made $11,000 available for distribution. With recommendations from the Council and committee, the following distributions are being made:
$3,000 to Fortune Lake Camp, a perennial favorite of this congregation;
$3,000 to the Synod endowment fund, to increase the amounts available to assist new pastors.
$2,000 to our synod’s Campus Ministries, which are suffering from budget cuts this year.
$3,000 to be used at the Council’s discretion for capital improvements locally.
God has really blessed us with these unexpected gifts. We now celebrate the good things we are able to do with the money, and we invite and encourage others to make gifts to this fund, which will be managed for the best long-term effect.
Our Mission Endowment Fund is an important way we can further God’s mission here and everywhere and encourage one another in being responsible and grateful stewards of the resources God has given us.
